Our verdict
If you play on PC, Steam is the default for a reason. Nothing else matches its catalogue, its review system makes it easy to avoid weak releases, and the refund policy lowers the risk of a bad purchase. The trade-off is that you need the desktop client and an account before you can play anything.
What we like
- Over 100,000 games across every genre
- Steam Workshop for community mods
- Refunds within 14 days and under 2 hours played
- Steam Deck and Linux support via Proton
Keep in mind
- Needs a desktop client
- Store page quality varies between games
Who it's for
Best for: biggest catalogue, mods, reviews. Open the official site to check current prices, age requirements and system requirements before you sign up.
